I will be hiking the North Fork Trail in West Virginia in March, 19th and 20th. The Trail is only 24 miles long and I plan on only hiking 12 miles a 6 miler each day. You have a view almost all the time on this trail. A picture paradise so bring a camera. Overlooking Sinks of Gandy, Sceneca Rocks, Spruce Knob. Trail follows a narrow foot path atop North Fork Mountain. I plan on being there Friday evening March 18th and start hiking by 9 am , no later. Should be setting up camp by 3 or 4 pm. I will be taking my time as too absorb the scenery. There is virtually know water sources on the trail so bring plenty of water. Voted Trail of the year By OutSide Magazine. outdoortravels.com/Hiking_WV_Overview_NorthFork.htmlE mail me at refrigeratorkid@wmconnect.com or at this FORUM. I have more info if needed.

I'm just about all packed up. It's been years since I've carried a pack this big. 1 digital camera, 1 35mm/100/200 zoom, tripod, 4 quarts of water, hammock, foam padding, down bag, and I still have some clothing to stuff into it. My scale says 35 lbs. I know that's not right. It must be closer to 50 lbs. My first time try at dehydrating made my beef stew look like shoe leather. I hope it comes back to life in the pot.
Yeah I'm ready to go. I'm looking forward to it.

Awesome trip, some of the best views I have ever seen of West Virginia. Snow drifts were 3 to 4 maybe 5 feet in some areas at the peaks.
I will post pics later this weekend when I recover.
Hiker head I enjoyed your presence and thanks for showing up. We need to hook up soon.

I hear ya Frig!! Great hike. 12 miles of cliffs, awesome!! I didn't tell you why I was hiking in shorts on Sunday. The time that I was AWOL there for a little bit I was bushwhacking over to the cliffs and something grabbed my pants leg and ripped it off. I had to take the other off to look fashionable.
Yes, lets get together pretty soon. Take a look at the dayhike coming up on 4-3. Long but easy.
Thanks for getting my poles back to me.
