I will hike Rough Trail #221 to Daniel Boone Hut and just past here a little ways will be a open area for several Tents to set up. Approx 1 mile. Several Backpackers are scheduled to be there comming in from Ohio, Indiana, NewJersey. They will arrive sometime friday evening. Saturday Morning we will pack up and head beack to the Parking area and truck on down to see several Arches you can hike to easily. Then by evening we will head to Swift Creek Trail #219 and hike in to one of the only areas wide enough to handle everyone's Tents. The Pines. The creek will be High if it's raining so instead of wet feet and some being miserable I do have plan B. Swift Camp Creek Trail is like a knife edge following the Creek. and continues on into the Clifty Wilderness. There is much to see and do here. Angels Window Chimmney Top Rock Gray's Arch Haystack Rock Princess Rock and if we can find it ------INDIAN STAIRCASE. I will call the Stanton Ranger District to see if they can give me GPS cordinates to Indian Staircase. When you get off Bertt.Combs MTN parkway at SLADE KY, there will be a gas station there. You need a parking permit to park in the RRG area. Also you can buy maps of the area as well. If your interested please contact me via here at this FORUM or at my E mail address at , refrigeratorkid@wmconnect.com I will give you my HOME phone # and my cell #. If you do make it ,I drive a Black Nissan Titan Truck 2004 and will be parked at the Parking Lot on rt 77 past Nida Tunnel. All you need to do is hike Rough Trail in a mile and you will see the Daniel Boone Hut , keep going and you will see Base Camp with a warm fire. Hope to see ya. Wow! That place looks great. "Up Up Up without ropes": Looks mighty steep from the camera's viewpoint. Thanks for the pictures. Looks like a treasure trove of Indian history in that area. Wish I could have gone. Next time perhaps.
