Heading out to the Smokies . Starting at Deep Gap northern Treminus of the AT and trekking some 30 plus miles to Newfoundland Gap. Got permits and a shuttle.

What a trip! Excellent weather and the views !!! Started at Newfound Gap to ice water spring shelter friday. Sat I started early ahead of the others headed to Tricorner shelter and wanted to check out Charlies Bunion and the Sawteeth. Mt Chapman kicked my tail. Mt Guyot another leg burner off to Mt Cammerer and to the Mt Cammerer Tower. A must see view from the tower. Down to Davenport Gap and I mean down. Drop in elevation is more that 4000ft.
