I have been looking at several Gortex shells as a shell for my winter bag, when I want to go extra light without a tent, although I always carry a nylon tarp just in case. My question is directed at moisture retention.
These bivy's always seem to have a nylon bottom, also, if it's freezing temps and your persperation leaving your body does make it out of your bag, will it freeze outside the Gortex?
Okay how about using a vapor barrier Bag inside your sleeping bag?.
Anybody got any experience using Bivy's or Vapor barrier's?
